Local Animals for Adoptions

Meet Rocco: In a setting where we are loath to choose favorites, Rocco makes that imperative just that much more difficult. We're just really not sure how old Rocco is and, plainly speaking, we're reluctant to just "guess". Rocco is neutered, housebroken, current on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm and Lyme disease, and received de-wormers and flea treatments. Rocco was found as stray and had a tough go of it before coming to our shelter. With proper nutrition and vet care he is doing great now. He is VERY affectionate and loves to try and sit in your lap. He should be the only animal in the home but will be a great friend to you, if you give him a chance. He could easily be considered to be the quintessential couch potato. Rocco is an extremely sweet dog!!! Children should be over the age of 10, For more information or an application, email dmack@scituatepd.or, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m.,

Meet Tanner: Tanner is currently available for adoption. Tanner is a spirited mixed breed dog, and he loves to walk. He takes a little while to bond with you but he shows staff and volunteers an enormous amount of affection once he does. We thought Tanner might be a Shiba Inu but the local Shiba Rescue league felt otherwise, so we're just really not sure. He's a handsome male with a strong personality, and he is currently up for adoption. We recommend a one dog home for tanner.

Meet Ellie: Ellie is a sweet female who loves to run and go on walks. She is a pleasure to walk, with little to no pulling. She's responsive to direction and she knows basic commands. Ellie loves being sprayed by the hose in the hot weather. The volunteers have a great time just outright 'assaulting' her with the water, and watching her have so much fun. She will be adopted out only to a one dog home. She gets along well with all the dogs in the shelter, but she was surrendered due to a conflict with another dog in her home. We invite you to come in and meet Ellie.
